Yatin meaning
Yatin (यतिन) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin.
An ascetic, a devotee
Yatin (यतिन) is the Sanskrit yatin, which Monier-Williams gives as an ascetic or devotee. It is closely related to yati, literally "a striver": one who has restrained his passions and given up worldly life. MW records Yati as the name of a mythical race of ascetics linked to the Bhṛgus, of a son of Brahmā and of a son of King Nahuṣa, and as a name of Śiva. Name lists give Yatin as "ascetic" or "devotee", matching the dictionary. In Bengali, where y- at the start of a word is said as j-, the same name is written যতীন and spoken as Jatin, often as a short form of Jatindra.
