Krishnadas meaning
Krishnadas (कृष्णदास) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin (Malayalam usage).
Servant of Kṛṣṇa; a name borne by several Sanskrit authors
Also used to mean: servant of Krishna, devotee of Krishna
Krishnadas (कृष्णदास) is the Sanskrit compound kṛṣṇa-dāsa, from the god's name and dāsa, which Monier-Williams gives as "slave, servant". It is an old devotional name: the dictionary records it for several Sanskrit authors, among them the writer of the Caitanya-caritāmṛta, the 16th-century life of Chaitanya. Name lists translate it as "servant" or "devotee of Krishna", in line with the dictionary. It is used mainly in Kerala, where it is borne by Kathakali artists and percussionists, and it is also used in Bengal and Gujarat.
