Yadu meaning
Yadu (यदु) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin (Malayalam usage).
An ancient hero, son of Yayāti and ancestor of Kṛṣṇa's Yādava clan
Also used to mean: an ancient king
Yadu (यदु) is the name of an ancient hero. Monier-Williams notes that the Rig Veda mentions him beside Turvaśa, and that in the epics he is a son of King Yayāti from whom Krishna is descended; his people, the Yādavas, take their name from him. Devotional names for Krishna such as Yadunandana, "joy of the Yadus", keep the link alive. It is a short boys' name used mainly in Kerala, sometimes extended as Yadukrishnan.
