Dharmaraj meaning
Dharmaraj (धर्मराज) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin.
A just king; a name of Yudhishthira and of Yama
Also used to mean: king of dharma
Dharmaraj (धर्मराज) is the Sanskrit dharma-rāja, from dharma, "law, right, duty", and rāja, "king". Monier-Williams gives it as a just or righteous king and as law personified as a king, and records it as a name of Yama, the god who judges the dead, and of Yudhiṣṭhira, the eldest Pandava, who was Yama's son and famous for his truthfulness. Buddhists also used it as a title of the Buddha. Indian name lists give "king of righteousness" or "Yudhishthira". The name is used across India, and Tamil families also use the forms Dharmaraj and Dharmarajan.
