Divakar meaning
Divakar (दिवाकर) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin.
Day-maker; the sun
Also used to mean: day maker
Divakar (दिवाकर) is the Sanskrit divā-kara, from divā, "by day", and kara, "making". Monier-Williams translates it as "day-maker" and gives it as one of the oldest names of the sun, found in the Atharvaveda, the Mahabharata and the Ramayana; it also records it as the name of an Āditya and of several men. Indian name lists give "the sun", which is exact. Divakar and Diwakar are used across India, and Dibakar is the Bengali form, as in the film director Dibakar Banerjee. It is a close twin of Dinkar, built the same way.
In Hindu tradition this is a name of Surya.
