Muthamizh meaning
Muthamizh (முத்தமிழ்) is a Tamil unisex name, used for both girls and boys.
The threefold Tamil: literature, music and drama
Muthamizh (முத்தமிழ்) means "threefold Tamil". The Tamil Lexicon defines muttamiḻ as the three branches of the language's arts: iyal, literary composition; icai, music; and nāṭakam, drama. The phrase is an old way of praising Tamil culture as a whole, and it gives names that express love of the language, such as Muthamizh, Muthamizhselvan and Muthamizhselvi. The first part is mu-, "three", not muttu, "pearl", though the two are easily confused. Like Tamizh and Thamizhini, it is chosen by parents who want a name rooted in the language itself.
