Alakh meaning
Alakh (अलख) is a Hindu boy's name of Hindi origin (from Sanskrit alakṣya). By its first sound, अ, it is a Mesh rashi name (Krittika nakshatra) in the North Indian table.
Unseen, invisible; without shape or form (said of God)
Also used to mean: formless God
Alakh (अलख) is the Hindi form of Sanskrit alakṣya, which Monier-Williams gives as "invisible, unobserved". Platts' Hindi dictionary defines alakh as unseen or invisible, and as without shape or form when said of God; he also records it as a salutation used among Jogis, and alakh-purush, "the invisible Being". The word belongs to the devotional speech of wandering yogis and saint-poets, for whom God cannot be seen with the eyes. Baby-name lists give the name as "invisible" or "the formless Lord", matching the dictionaries. A well-known bearer is the physics teacher Alakh Pandey, founder of Physics Wallah.
