Sampath meaning
Sampath (सम्पत्) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin (south Indian usage).
Success, accomplishment, fulfilment; good fortune, prosperity, wealth
Sampath (सम्पत्) is the south Indian form of Sanskrit sampad, a noun from the verb sam-pad, "to succeed, come about". Monier-Williams gives it first as success, accomplishment and fulfilment, and then as good fortune, prosperity, riches and wealth, noting that wealth in this sense is personified as the goddess Lakṣmī. Name lists give "wealth" or "prosperity", in line with the dictionary. The name is used mainly in Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, while north Indian families use the form Sampat.
