Hayat meaning
Hayat (حیات) is a Muslim boy's name of Arabic origin (Urdu usage), also used for girls.
Life; the power of growth, feeling and reason
Hayat (حیات) is the Arabic word ḥayāh, "life", pronounced ḥayāt in Urdu and Persian. Lane's lexicon explains it as life itself, the power of growth, feeling and understanding, and also as freedom from sorrow and the everlasting life of the hereafter. The same root gives al-Ḥayy, "the Ever-Living", one of God's names. The word occurs often in the Quran, as in "in retribution there is life for you" (2:179). In India Hayat is mostly given to boys, often as Hayat Khan or Hayatullah, and is also used for girls.
