Kaif meaning
Kaif (کیف) is a Muslim boy's name of Arabic origin (Persian and Urdu usage).
Pleasure, a merry life; also the elation of drink or drugs
Also used to mean: joy, bliss
Kaif (کیف) came into Persian and Urdu from Arabic, where kayfa is simply the question word "how?". In Persian the word took on a very different sense. Steingass's dictionary gives kaif as the hilarity that comes from drink or from chewing bhang, as an intoxicating drug, and, in everyday speech, as pleasure or a merry life. Name lists give Kaif as "joy", "pleasure" or "bliss", which keeps the happy side of the word. Parents may like to know that the older dictionary sense includes intoxication, though in Urdu the word is now heard mostly as delight. The name is well known in India through the cricketer Mohammad Kaif.
