Faria meaning
Faria (فارعہ) is a Muslim girl's name of Arabic origin (Urdu usage).
Tall, overtopping; high, goodly in form, beautiful
Also used to mean: pretty
Faria (فارعہ) is usually taken as the Arabic fāriʿa, feminine of fāriʿ, from the root f-r-ʿ, "to rise above". Lane's lexicon gives fāriʿ as overtopping others in height, tall or high, and goodly in form or beautiful; it also records that the word was occasionally used in the opposite sense, "low", one of the Arabic words with two contrary meanings. Fāriʿa itself is the highest part of a mountain or valley. Name lists give Faria as "tall", "pretty" or "beautiful". The name is used by Muslim families in Bengal and Bangladesh, and is also spelled Fariya.
