Fariha meaning
Fariha (فریحہ) is a Muslim girl's name of Arabic origin (Urdu usage).
Rejoicing, joyful, glad; feminine of fariḥ
Also used to mean: happy, cheerful
Fariha (فریحہ) is the feminine of Arabic fariḥ, from the root f-r-ḥ, "to rejoice". Lane's lexicon defines fariḥ as rejoicing, joyful, glad or happy, and also well pleased or content; the noun faraḥ, "joy", gives the name Farah. The Quran speaks of the martyrs as fariḥīn, "rejoicing in what God has given them of His bounty" (3:170). Name lists give Fariha as "happy", "joyful" or "cheerful", matching the dictionary. In India and Pakistan the name is usually spelled and said Fareeha, with a long middle vowel.
