Jameela meaning
Jameela (جمیلہ) is a Muslim girl's name of Arabic origin.
Beautiful, comely; good in conduct and character
Jameela is the feminine of Arabic jamīl, from the root j-m-l. Lane's lexicon defines jamīl as beautiful, goodly or comely in person, and also good in actions and in moral character, and jamāl as beauty of person, of deeds and of character alike, the kind of goodness that passes from its owner to others. Under this root Lane quotes the saying that God is jamīl and loves what is jamīl, explaining it as 'comely in deeds' or 'abundant in bestowing good'. The Quran uses the word for a quality of the heart: Jacob's response to grief is ṣabrun jamīl, 'beautiful patience' (12:18). Baby-name lists give 'beautiful' or 'lovely', the dictionary sense. The masculine form is Jameel.
