Amana meaning
Amana (امانہ) is a Muslim girl's name of Arabic origin.
A trust; something committed to one's care
Also used to mean: faithfulness
Amana (امانہ) is Arabic amāna, from the root ʾ-m-n, which also gives amn, "safety", and īmān, "faith". Lane's lexicon defines amāna as something entrusted to a person's care, a trust or deposit. The Quran speaks of the great trust offered to the heavens, the earth and the mountains, which they declined and humankind took on (33:72); Lane notes that scholars explained it as obedience, reason or religious duty. In Urdu amānat is the everyday word for something held in trust. Name lists give Amana as "trust" or "faithfulness".
