Liyana meaning
Liyana (لیانہ) is a Muslim and international girl's name of Arabic origin (Urdu usage).
Root sense: softness, tenderness, gentleness (l-y-n)
Liyana (لیانہ) is a modern name that is usually explained from the Arabic root l-y-n, "to be soft". Lane's lexicon defines the verb lāna, with the nouns līn and layān, as to be soft, smooth, tender and supple, and of a person, gentle or mild. The Quran uses the related layyin when Moses and Aaron are told to speak to Pharaoh with "gentle words" (20:44). Name lists give Liyana as "soft" or "tender". The exact form is not an entry in the classical dictionaries, so the link is likely but not certain. The name is used by Muslim families in India.
