Masooma meaning
Masooma (معصومہ) is a Muslim girl's name of Arabic origin (Urdu usage).
Protected (from sin); innocent, sinless (feminine of maʿṣūm)
Masooma (معصومہ) is the feminine of the Arabic maʿṣūm, "protected", from the root ʿ-ṣ-m. Lane's lexicon explains ʿaṣama as to defend, protect or preserve, and ʿaṣamahu Allāh as God's protecting a person, above all from sin; in Urdu maʿṣūm is the everyday word for innocent. The name has a special place in Shia families: Fatima al-Masuma, sister of Imam Ali al-Rida, is buried in Qom, where her shrine draws many pilgrims. Name lists give Masooma as "innocent" or "sinless", in line with the dictionary.
