Lulu meaning
Lulu (لؤلؤ) is a Muslim girl's name of Arabic origin (Urdu usage).
Pearl, pearls
Lulu (لؤلؤ) is the Arabic luʾluʾ, "pearls"; a single pearl is luʾluʾa. Lane's lexicon defines luʾluʾa as a pearl and notes a colour "like that of pearls". The Quran mentions pearls several times: pearls and coral come out of the two seas (55:22), and the youths who serve in Paradise are compared to hidden pearls (52:24). Name lists give Lulu as "pearl". The name is short and easy to say in any language. It has no link to the English nickname Lulu for Louise.
