Razia meaning
Razia (رضیہ) is a Muslim girl's name of Arabic origin.
Pleased, content, satisfied; well-pleased with another; loving, obedient
Also used to mean: pleasing
Razia (رضیہ) is the Arabic raḍiyya, pronounced raziya in Urdu, from the root r-ḍ-w, "to be pleased". Lane's lexicon gives raḍiyy and rāḍin as pleased, content or satisfied, regarding others with goodwill, and also loving or obedient. The Quran addresses the soul at peace: "return to your Lord, well-pleased and pleasing" (89:28), using rāḍiya from the same root. Name lists give Razia as "content" or "pleasing". The most famous bearer is Razia Sultan, who ruled the Delhi Sultanate from 1236 to 1240, the only woman to sit on its throne.
