Atiqa meaning
Atiqa (عتیقہ) is a Muslim girl's name of Arabic origin.
Freed; old, ancient, of long standing
Also used to mean: noble
Atiqa (عتیقہ) is the feminine of Arabic ʿatīq, from the root ʿ-t-q. Lane's lexicon gives ʿatīq two main senses: freed from slavery, and old or ancient, said of anything of long standing, including fine aged wine. The Quran calls the Kaaba al-Bayt al-ʿAtīq, "the Ancient House" (22:29), and ʿAtīq was also an honorific of Abu Bakr. Name lists give Atiqa as "noble", "freed" or "ancient"; the last two follow the dictionary directly. It is a different name from Atika, which begins with the same sound but comes from another root.
