Anwara meaning
Anwara (انورہ) is a Muslim girl's name of Arabic origin (Bengali and Assamese usage).
Bright, radiant; feminine form of anwar, 'brighter, more luminous'
Also used to mean: light, radiance
Anwara (انورہ), also written Anowara, is a feminine form of Anwar, Arabic anwar, from nūr, "light". Lane's lexicon defines nūr as light of every kind, the opposite of darkness, and anwar as bright and beautiful in colour, a word used in describing the Prophet. Classical Arabic would make the feminine nūrā, so Anwara is a South Asian form, used mainly among Bengali and Assamese Muslims. Name lists give it as "light" or "radiance". A notable bearer was Syeda Anwara Taimur, the first woman Chief Minister of Assam.
