Sughra meaning
Sughra (صغریٰ) is a Muslim girl's name of Arabic origin.
Smaller, lesser; the younger (feminine of aṣghar)
Also used to mean: little
Sughra (صغریٰ) is the Arabic ṣughrā, the feminine of aṣghar, "smaller, younger". Steingass's Persian dictionary gives it as less or least, and Lane's lexicon defines the root word ṣaghīr as small, whether in body, in rank or in years, and so a young one or a child. Its opposite is kubrā, "greater, elder", and the pair often distinguish two women of the same name, as with an elder and a younger Fatima. Name lists give Sughra as "small" or "little". Bearers include Sughra Humayun Mirza, a pioneering Hyderabadi writer.
