Atifa meaning
Atifa (عاطفہ) is a Muslim girl's name of Arabic origin (Urdu usage).
Affection, kindness; mercy, compassion
Also used to mean: sympathy
Atifa (عاطفہ) is Arabic ʿāṭifa, from the root ʿ-ṭ-f, whose basic idea is bending or inclining towards someone. Lane's lexicon gives ʿāṭifa first as a reason for inclining to a person, and then as affection or kindness, mercy, pity and compassion. In modern Arabic and Urdu the related word ʿawāṭif means feelings or emotions. Name lists give Atifa as "affection", "kindness" or "sympathy", which follows the dictionary. The masculine form is Atif.
