Rafiqa meaning
Rafiqa (رفیقہ) is a Muslim girl's name of Arabic origin.
Gentle, kind, gracious; a companion, especially on a journey
Also used to mean: friend
Rafiqa (رفیقہ) is the feminine of Arabic rafīq, from the root r-f-q, whose first sense is gentleness. Lane's lexicon gives rafīq as gentle, tender, gracious or courteous, and also as a companion, first on a journey and then in life. The Quran calls the prophets, the truthful, the martyrs and the righteous "excellent companions" (4:69), using the same word. In Urdu rafīq-e-ḥayāt means a life partner. Name lists give Rafiqa as "friend" or "companion" and "kind", matching both senses. Rafiq is the boys' form.
