Kashaf meaning
Kashaf (کشف) is a Muslim girl's name of Arabic origin (Urdu usage).
Uncovering, unveiling; disclosure, revelation
Also used to mean: discovery
Kashaf (کشف) is the Urdu way of saying the Arabic kashf, the noun of kashafa, "to uncover". Lane's lexicon explains kashafa as uncovering, unveiling or laying something open, discovering or revealing it, and also as dispelling grief. In Sufi writing kashf is the unveiling of spiritual truth. The name is borne by Kashaf Murtaza, the heroine of the Pakistani TV drama Zindagi Gulzar Hai (2012–13), based on Umera Ahmad's novel. Name lists give Kashaf as "revelation" or "discovery", which matches the dictionary.
