Kashish meaning
Kashish (कशिश) is a Hindu girl's name of Persian origin (Hindi-Urdu usage).
A drawing or pulling; attraction, allure
Also used to mean: lord of Kashi
Kashish (कशिश) is a Persian word that passed into Hindi and Urdu. Platts's dictionary gives kashish as a drawing or pulling, and hence attraction or allure; it is built on the Persian verb stem kash-, "to draw". The same entry also lists less romantic senses, such as strain, hardship and a falling-out, though as a name it is always meant as "attraction". Some name lists say "lord of Kashi", a title of Shiva. That would match Sanskrit kāśīśa, which Monier-Williams records as a name of Shiva, but kāśīśa is a different word from the one in the name. Kashish is mostly given to girls, occasionally to boys.
