Zulekha meaning
Zulekha (زلیخا) is a Muslim girl's name of Arabic and Persian origin.
Zulaikhā, the name given in Islamic tradition to the wife of Potiphar in the story of Joseph
Also used to mean: brilliant beauty, fair
Zulekha (زلیخا) is Zulaikhā, the name Islamic tradition gives to the wife of Potiphar in the story of the prophet Joseph (Yusuf), who is unnamed in the Quran and in Genesis. Steingass's Persian dictionary records her as the woman "whose passion for Joseph is much celebrated in the East", above all in Jami's poem Yusuf and Zulaikha, where her love is often read as a picture of the soul's longing for God. Steingass gives no meaning for the name. Name lists say "brilliant beauty" or "fair", which we could not confirm.
