Afroza meaning
Afroza (افروزہ) is a Muslim girl's name of Persian origin (Urdu and Bengali usage).
Illuminating, kindling light; literally, the wick of a lamp
Also used to mean: enlightening
Afroza (افروزہ) comes from Persian afroz, "kindling" or "lighting up", which appears in compounds such as dil-afroz, "heart-brightening". Steingass' Persian dictionary gives afroz the sense of burning or illuminating, and records afroza itself as the wick of a lamp, the part that carries the flame. Name lists give Afroza as "illuminating" or "enlightening", in line with these words. The name is used by Muslim families in India and Bangladesh; the shorter Afroz is given to both girls and boys.
