Sabahat (صباحت) is the Urdu form of Arabic ṣabāḥa, from the root ṣ-b-ḥ that also gives ṣubḥ, "morning", and the name Sabiha. Lane's lexicon defines it as beauty, comeliness or elegance, some say especially of the face, or brightness of the face. He quotes an old saying that shares out the kinds of beauty: ṣabāḥa belongs to the face, ḥalāwa to the eye, malāḥa to the mouth, and the completion of beauty is in the hair. Name lists give Sabahat as "beauty" or "radiance".
