Masooda meaning
Masooda (مسعودہ) is a Muslim girl's name of Arabic origin (Urdu usage).
Fortunate, happy, prosperous (feminine of masʿūd)
Masooda (مسعودہ) is the feminine of the Arabic masʿūd, from the root s-ʿ-d, "to be happy or fortunate". Lane's lexicon gives saʿīd and masʿūd as prosperous, fortunate and happy, both in matters of faith and in worldly life, and adds that masʿūd can mean one made prosperous by God. The same root gives saʿādat, "happiness, good fortune", a familiar Urdu word. Name lists give Masooda as "fortunate" or "happy", in line with the dictionary. It is the female counterpart of Masood; Masuda is another spelling.
