Safina meaning
Safina (سفینہ) is a Muslim girl's name of Arabic origin.
A ship, a boat
Safina (سفینہ) is the Arabic safīna, "a ship or boat". Lane's lexicon reports the old grammarians' explanation that it comes from the root s-f-n, "to pare", as though a ship skims the surface of the water. The word appears in the Quran: Noah and "the people of the ship" were saved (29:15), and in the story of Moses and al-Khidr a boat is holed to keep it from a king who seized every sound vessel (18:71, 18:79). Name lists give the meaning as "ship" or "boat", matching the dictionary.
