Safa meaning
Safa (صفا) is a Muslim and international girl's name of Arabic origin.
Clearness, purity; in later use, serenity of mind; also al-Ṣafā, a hill at Mecca
Also used to mean: clarity
Safa (صفا) comes from the Arabic root ṣ-f-w, "to be clear or pure". Lane's lexicon defines ṣafāʾ as clearness, limpidness or purity, like that of clear water, and notes that later writers also use it for serenity of life and of the mind. Al-Ṣafā is also the name of the small hill at Mecca which, with al-Marwa, the Quran counts among the signs of God (2:158); pilgrims walk between the two during Hajj and Umrah. Name lists give Safa as "purity" or "clarity".
