Hiba meaning
Hiba (ہبہ) is a Muslim and international girl's name of Arabic origin.
A gift, properly one given freely without return
Hiba (ہبہ) is Arabic hiba, "a gift", the verbal noun of wahaba, "to give, to grant". Lane's Arabic-English Lexicon explains it as something given freely and disinterestedly, without any return, and notes that Islamic law distinguishes such a free gift from one made in expectation of something back. The same root runs through the Qur'an, where it occurs twenty-five times. It appears in Zakariyyā's prayers for a child, rabbi hab lī, "my Lord, grant me" (3:38, 19:5), and in the divine name al-Wahhāb, "the Bestower". Baby-name lists agree on "gift", matching the dictionary. The name is written هبة in Arabic and ہبہ in Urdu, and is also spelt Hibah or Heba in English.
