Anima meaning
Anima (अणिमा) is a Hindu girl's name of Sanskrit origin. By its first sound, अ, it is a Mesh rashi name (Krittika nakshatra) in the North Indian table.
Minuteness, fineness; the power of becoming as small as an atom
Anima (अणिमा) is the Sanskrit aṇimā, from aṇu, "minute, atomic". Monier-Williams gives it as minuteness, fineness and thinness, and as the superhuman power of becoming as small as an atom. In yoga and Purana texts aṇimā heads the list of eight siddhis, the powers said to come to an accomplished yogi. Name lists give the name as tiny or minute, which follows the dictionary. Anima is a girls' name used in Bengal and North India, often spelt with an ordinary n. It is unrelated to the Latin anima, "soul".
