Kodhai meaning
Kodhai (கோதை) is a Tamil and Hindu girl's name.
A woman's hair; a flower garland; Andal, the Vaishnava woman saint
Kodhai (கோதை) is the name of Āṇṭāḷ, the only woman among the twelve Vaishnava Alvars. The Tamil Lexicon records kōtai as a woman's hair, a flower garland worn by women, a pearl necklace, a woman likened to a garland, and Andal herself. Tradition says her foster father Periyalvar found her as a baby in a tulsi garden at Srivilliputhur and named her Kodhai; she is remembered for wearing the garland meant for the god before it was offered. Her Tiruppāvai is sung across Tamil Nadu every Margazhi month. Godha is the Sanskritised form.
