Pritilata meaning
Pritilata (प्रीतिलता) is a Hindu girl's name of Sanskrit origin (Bengali usage).
A vine of love (prīti 'love, joy' + latā 'creeper')
Pritilata (প্রীতিলতা, प्रीतिलता) joins Sanskrit prīti, "joy, affection, love", and latā, "a creeper", so it reads as "a vine of love" or "a vine of joy". Monier-Williams gives prīti as pleasure, gladness, kindness and love, and records Prīti personified as a daughter of Dakṣa and a wife of Kāma; latā is a creeper and, in poetry, a slender woman. The name is honoured in Bengal through Pritilata Waddedar, the Chittagong revolutionary who led the 1932 attack on the Pahartali European Club and died during it.
