Priscilla meaning
Priscilla is a Christian girl's name of Latin origin (via Greek).
Little Prisca; Prisca is the feminine of Priscus, 'ancient'
Also used to mean: venerable
Priscilla is the pet form of Prisca, which Strong's Concordance explains as the feminine of the Latin name Priscus, 'ancient'; Priscilla itself is 'little Prisca'. Name lists usually give it as 'ancient' or 'venerable'. In the New Testament Priscilla and her husband Aquila were tentmakers who worked alongside the apostle Paul in Corinth and Ephesus, hosted a church in their home and taught the preacher Apollos, so she is remembered as one of the early Church's leading women. In India the name is used by Christian families of every tradition.
