Pritha meaning
Pritha (पृथा) is a Hindu girl's name of Sanskrit origin.
A name of Kunti, mother of the Pandavas
Pritha (पृथा) is the birth name of Kunti in the Mahabharata. Monier-Williams records pṛthā as the daughter of Śūra, adopted by King Kuntibhoja, which is why she is also called Kuntī, and married to Pāṇḍu; she was the mother of Karṇa and of Yudhiṣṭhira, Bhīma and Arjuna. From her name come the epic titles Pārtha, "son of Pṛthā", used above all for Arjuna. The deeper root meaning of the word is uncertain. Prutha is another spelling.
