Hiya meaning
Hiya (हिया) is a Hindu girl's name of Hindi and Bengali origin.
The heart; also mind, soul, breast
Hiya (हिया) is an old Hindi and Bengali word for the heart. Platts' Hindustani dictionary gives hiyā and hiya as the heart, and also the mind, the soul or life, and the breast, with phrases such as hiya-hār, "one whose heart has been won". In Bengali the word belongs to poetry and song rather than everyday speech, which gives the name a lyrical feel. Name lists give Hiya as "heart", which matches the dictionary. It is a short modern name used in Bengal and across India.
