Rama meaning
Rama (रमा) is a Hindu girl's name of Sanskrit origin.
A name of Lakshmi; good fortune, splendour; a beloved wife
Rama (रमा) is the feminine of Sanskrit rama, "pleasing, delighting", from the verb ram, "to rejoice". Monier-Williams gives ramā as a wife or beloved, as a name of Lakshmi, the goddess of fortune, and as good luck, splendour and opulence; it is also the name of the eleventh day of the dark half of Kārttika, kept as Ramā Ekādaśī. Written with a short first a and a long final ā, Ramā is a different name from Rāma, the hero of the Ramayana. It is a girl's name used across India, borne by the Odia freedom fighter Rama Devi.
In Hindu tradition this is a name of Lakshmi.
