Thirumagal meaning
Thirumagal (திருமகள்) is a Tamil and Hindu girl's name.
The goddess Lakshmi
Thirumagal (திருமகள்) is a pure Tamil name of the goddess Lakshmi. The Tamil Lexicon of the University of Madras glosses tirumakaḷ simply as Lakshmi, quoting Kamban's Ramayana. Its parts are tiru, which the Lexicon gives as Lakshmi herself and as wealth, beauty, radiance and holiness, and makaḷ, a daughter or a woman, so the name reads 'the lady of good fortune'. It is the Tamil counterpart of Sri or Lakshmi, chosen by families who prefer a Tamil form for the goddess of prosperity.
In Hindu tradition this is a name of Lakshmi.
