Parthavi meaning
Parthavi (पार्थवी) is a Hindu girl's name of Sanskrit origin. By its first sound, पा, it is a Kanya rashi name (Uttara Phalguni nakshatra) in the North Indian table.
Earth-born; a name of Sita and of Lakshmi (as pārthivī)
Also used to mean: daughter of the earth
Parthavi (पार्थवी) is the modern spelling of Sanskrit pārthivī, the feminine of pārthiva, "earthly", which comes from pṛthivī, "the earth". Monier-Williams gives pārthivī as "earth-born", a name of Sītā, who in the Ramayana was found in a furrow of the earth, and the lexicons also apply it to Lakshmi. Name lists give "daughter of the earth", which matches. A few sites derive the name instead from Pārtha, a name of Arjuna, but the dictionary supports the earth sense. Parthivi is the spelling closest to the Sanskrit.
In Hindu tradition this is a name of Lakshmi.
