Hasini meaning
Hasini (हासिनी) is a Hindu girl's name of Sanskrit origin. By its first sound, हा, it is a Mithun rashi name (Punarvasu nakshatra) in the North Indian table.
Smiling, laughing; also the name of an Apsaras
Hasini (हासिनी) is the feminine of Sanskrit hāsin, "laughing, smiling", a word built on hāsa, "laughter". Monier-Williams cites hāsin from the Mahābhārata and the Harivaṃśa and adds a second sense, "dazzlingly white, brilliant". It also records Hāsinī as the name of an Apsaras, one of the celestial dancers, in the Mahābhārata, so the name has an epic bearer as well as a cheerful meaning. Baby-name lists give "one who laughs", "smiling" or "delightful", in line with the dictionary. The name is also spelt Haasini, which shows the long first vowel of the Sanskrit.
