Dhriti meaning
Dhriti (धृति) is a Hindu girl's name of Sanskrit origin.
Firmness, constancy, resolve; satisfaction, contentment, joy
Also used to mean: patience, courage
Dhriti (धृति) is the Sanskrit dhṛti, a noun from the root dhṛ, "to hold or support". Monier-Williams gives its senses as "holding, supporting", then "firmness, constancy, resolution, will", and also "satisfaction, content, joy". In the Mahabharata and the Puranas Dhṛti is personified as a daughter of Daksha and a wife of Dharma, and the word names one of the sixteen digits (kalās) of the moon. In prosody it is a class of metre of four lines of eighteen syllables, which made it a byword for the number eighteen. Indian name lists give Dhriti as "patience" or "courage", close in spirit to the older sense of steady resolve.
