Aishwarya meaning
Aishwarya (ऐश्वर्या) is a Hindu girl's name of Sanskrit origin.
Sovereignty, supremacy, power, dominion; superhuman power
Also used to mean: wealth, prosperity
Aishwarya (ऐश्वर्या) is the Sanskrit aiśvarya, "the state of being a mighty lord", a word related to īśvara, "lord". Monier-Williams gives its senses as "sovereignty, supremacy, power, sway" and "dominion", and also uses it for superhuman power, such as the eight yogic powers of becoming minute, light or vast at will. In Hindi the word widened: Platts' dictionary adds "grandeur, glory, majesty" and "wealth, prosperity", which is how name lists usually give it today. Indian name lists also link it with the goddess Lakshmi, though the dictionaries do not. Well-known bearers include Queen Aishwarya of Nepal (1949–2001) and the actress Aishwarya Rai, Miss World 1994.
