Panna meaning
Panna (पन्ना) is a Hindu girl's name of Hindi origin.
Emerald; also a leaf, a page
Panna (पन्ना) is the Hindi word for an emerald. Platts lists it beside other words of the same sound: a leaf or the page of a book, thin gold or silver leaf, and the tart summer drink still called panna. As a name it is understood as "emerald", the green gem, and name lists agree. In Rajasthan the name is remembered through Panna Dai, the sixteenth-century nursemaid of Mewar who saved the infant prince Udai Singh II by putting her own son in his place.
