Haimavati meaning
Haimavati (हैमवती) is a Hindu girl's name of Sanskrit origin.
Of the Himalaya; a name of Pārvatī and of the Gaṅgā
Also used to mean: Parvati, daughter of the Himalaya
Haimavati (हैमवती) is the feminine of Sanskrit haimavata, which Monier-Williams gives as belonging to, growing in or flowing from the Himalaya, or simply snowy. As a name it is recorded for Pārvatī, also called Umā, the daughter of Himavat, and for the river Gaṅgā, which flows down from the same mountains. In the Kena Upanishad it is Umā Haimavatī who appears to the gods and teaches them about Brahman. Name lists give "Parvati" or "daughter of the Himalaya", which matches the dictionary. Hymavathi is a Telugu spelling.
In Hindu tradition this is a name of Parvati.
