Shambhavi meaning
Shambhavi (शाम्भवी) is a Hindu girl's name of Sanskrit origin.
A name of Durgā; belonging to Śambhu (Śiva)
Also used to mean: goddess Parvati, related to Shiva
Shambhavi (शाम्भवी) is the feminine of Sanskrit śāmbhava, "coming from or relating to Śambhu", and Śambhu is a name of Shiva that Monier-Williams explains as kind, benevolent or causing happiness. The dictionary gives śāmbhavī as a name of the goddess Durgā, citing the Tantras, and also as a kind of blue-flowered dūrvā grass. Wikipedia and many name lists describe Shambhavi as an epithet of Parvati, Shiva's consort; in Hindu tradition Durgā and Pārvatī are both forms of the goddess who is Shiva's partner. Name lists give "related to Shiva" or "goddess Parvati", which agree with the dictionary. A few sites offer "peaceful", which we could not trace.
In Hindu tradition this is a name of Durga.
