Sreelakshmi meaning
Sreelakshmi (श्रीलक्ष्मी) is a Hindu girl's name of Sanskrit origin (Malayalam usage).
The goddess Lakshmi, honoured with the prefix Śrī
Sreelakshmi (ശ്രീലക്ഷ്മി) joins two Sanskrit words that both point to the goddess of fortune. Lakṣmī first meant a mark or sign, then good fortune, prosperity, wealth and beauty, and finally the goddess who embodies them. Śrī means light, radiance, beauty and prosperity; it is another name of Lakshmi and, as Monier-Williams notes, an honorific prefix placed before the names of deities, as in Śrī Rāma. So Sreelakshmi is "the revered Lakshmi". The Sree- spelling is typical of Kerala; elsewhere it is written Srilakshmi or Shreelakshmi.
In Hindu tradition this is a name of Lakshmi.
