Gehna meaning
Gehna (गहना) is a Hindu girl's name of Hindi origin.
An ornament, a trinket, a jewel; jewellery
Gehna (गहना) is the everyday Hindi word for jewellery. Platts' Hindustani dictionary gives gahnā as an ornament, a trinket or a jewel, and also as jewellery taken together, as in gahnā-pātā, "jewels and trinkets". Under the same word Platts lists unrelated older senses, such as a pledge and a farmer's levelling plank, which play no part in the name. Name lists give Gehna as "jewellery" or "ornament", matching the dictionary. It is used mainly in North India and is also spelt Gehana.
