Jhalak meaning
Jhalak (झलक) is a Hindu girl's name of Hindi origin. By its first sound, झ, it is a Meen rashi name (Uttara Bhadrapada nakshatra) in the North Indian table.
Brightness, radiance, sparkle, lustre; a gleam of light
Also used to mean: glimpse
Jhalak (झलक) is a Hindi word tied to the verb jhalaknā, "to shine, glitter, flash". Platts's 1884 dictionary gives the noun as brightness, radiance, glitter, sparkle, lustre and reflected light. In modern Hindi the word is most often used for a glimpse, a brief flash of something seen, as in the phrase jhalak dikhlānā, "to show a glimpse", and name lists give it as "glimpse" or "spark". Both senses come from the same picture of a quick flash of light. It is a modern, informal-sounding name that is easy to say.
